General interest
This site has been written by someone who has personally given a home to several greyhounds, as well as being actively involved in the fostering and rehoming of many more. It offers practical advice on all aspects of owning ex-racing greyhounds, from following your dog's racing history, to healthcare, to recipes for tasty treats that your dog cannot resist. Although much of the information is specific to ex-racing greyhounds, some of it is applicable to sighthounds in general
The Canine Care Group is run as a charity, they help with behavioural problems, health issues and try to educate on the problems connected with vaccines and overuse of other types of drugs on our animals, such as antibiotics and steroids, which cause major problems. They also advise on holistic health care and I have had excellent results with my own dogs using their combination homeopathic remedies.

Sighthounds Online is a non profit voluntary organisation based in the UK that aims to help sighthounds across Europe. A website and forums have been set up to provide information and advice with regards to many issues concerning sighthounds.
Lurcher Link is a voluntary organisation whose aim is to try and save Lurchers' lives by liaising between rescues, stray pounds and members of the public. Many Lurchers are destroyed each week because the stray pounds are full and the local rescues have no room for any more dogs either. Yet in other parts of the country, people are looking for Lurchers to rehome. We wish to rectify this situation by being a point of contact for all rescues, the public and stray centres.
Greyhound Rescue West of England
The main areas of operation for GRWE are Hereford, Gloucester, Shropshire and the Western Counties including Dorset, Devon etc. They rehome dogs from all backgrounds, from small puppies to 14 year old dogs. This site offers great advice for greyhound care for first time owners, and gives you information about dogs available for rehoming.
Lurcher Search UK are a group of volunteers whose aim is to reunite lost and stolen lurchers and other dogs with their owners. This scheme works through a network of countrywide contacts, both on the telephone and via the Internet, who receive information about lost and stolen dogs and then circulate the details to the police, dog wardens, rescue centres etc. In this way there is a better chance that a lost dog will be recognised.
Southern Lurcher Rescue is a small UK voluntary organisation based in the South, dedicated to the work of rehoming unwanted lurchers given up from home environments. We do not have kennel facilities, so are unable to take on dogs needing isolation assessment. All dogs are kept in private voluntary fostering until a suitable home is found.
Greyhound Gap is an independant network of freelance volunteers willing to help all UK Sighthound rescues in all aspects of homing, from homechecks, to transporting and fostering. We also specialise in rehoming and rehabilitating death row greyhounds and lurchers.
Is dedicated to helping to find good homes for abandoned, abused or neglected greyhound and lurchers. They have a list of rescues in the UK that help these loving, gentle dogs.
Sighthound Welfare Trust is an organisation committed to improving the welfare of sighthounds in the UK, Ireland and Spain. They promote responsible ownership, raise awareness of sighthound welfare issues and support the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of sighthounds.
The RGT Croftview Greyhound Kennels is based in Kent. The web site is updated on an almost daily basis, so it is always possible to check exactly what dogs are available for rehoming.
First State Greyhound Rescue Inc
First State Greyhound Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of ex-racing Greyhound dogs. They place greyhounds in homes around the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
Northwest Canadian Greyhound League
The NCGL rehomes ex racing greyhounds as well as other sighthounds in the North West of Canada. This site gives you their details along with details of dogs available for rehoming.
The Oldies’ Club was formed on an internet dog chat forum by a large group of people who felt great empathy with the plight of elderly dogs that end up in rescue centres all over the country.
